The Diagnosis, Treatment, and Follow-up of Men with Androgen Deficiency PIM is a web based tool designed to meet the needs of endocrinologists to improve performance in effectively diagnosing and managing male patients with androgen deficiency, including engaging these patients in positive and meaningful self-management activities with the goal of improving health care outcomes. Developed by expert faculty in the field of endocrinology to improve care nationwide for patients who suffer from this illness, and to increase awareness of practitioners regarding best practices.

Learner Objectives

 Upon completion of this educational activity, learners will be able to:

  • Evaluate their practice structure and processes to determine the extent to which the systems support the delivery of quality care;
  • Compare their practice against performance measures through patient chart review;
  • Assess their patient communication skills when treating men with androgen deficiency;
  • Develop and implement a self and/or practice wide improvement plan to enhance patient care;
  • Analyze their performance after implementing the improvement plans to determine if interventions have closed gaps in their care for men with androgen deficiency.

This CME and MOC activity is intended for physicians seeking recertification in endocrinology and/or feedback on performance in this area of endocrinology.

This activity is approved by the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Approved Quality Improvement (AQI) Pathway for 20 points toward the Self-Evaluation of Practice Performance (Part 4) requirement of Maintenance of Certification (MOC).
